Homework

Email sent 4/6/20
Hello Team 57 Parents/Guardians,
Hope that you are all doing well and staying safe! This week we are continuing with enrichment activities, however Remote Learning will be up and running starting April 13, 2020.
Mrs. Hagar and I are hosting weekly Zoom meetings for each homeroom on Wednesday mornings. If you would like to opt your student out of these meetings you may. On page 6 of the WPS Remote Learning Plan there is a link that will lead you to a form that you can fill out. Your student may still receive an invite to a Zoom meeting however, if you have opted them out they are not required to join the meeting. Your student will receive their meeting email through their school account.
Mrs. Preye our librarian has created a google classroom page for 5th graders that students are more than welcome to join. She is posting some fun activities, especially this month with it being Poetry Month. If you would like your student to join her google classroom, I have posted her code on your student's Literacy Google Classroom page.
Please be on the lookout for an email from me next Monday about Remote Learning. If you have any questions, please email me. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Hello Team 57 Parents/Guardians,
I hope that everyone is healthy, staying safe, and doing well. This is just a reminder that I will be continuing to post enrichment activities on Google Classroom. These activities will not be used as a grade. Students can also log into iReady through Clever at anytime. They should all have a QR code that they can scan to get in, or on the login screen it will ask for a username and password. Students can login using either method.
I am also working on updating my pages on the WIS website so please check my homework and the useful links pages. Under useful links I will be posting some links from the district and our school that you may find helpful.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Miss Kordana

This message is from Mrs. Chapin. She has asked that we pass it on to you: "I challenge all WIS students and staff to write and submit your own poem by Friday, March 27. Have fun! Be safe! Stay healthy! I miss you all. 💌

All submissions earn a Mystery Polar Point Scratch Ticket.

First Week

One week without classes
five days without school
the time slowly passes
this just isn't cool!

We miss all your faces
our days go by too slow
we're all stuck in our places
with no where else to go.

You all went home on Friday
with Blizzard Bags to complete
your teachers work from home each day
they will send you notes each week.

Each day we are thinking
of fun things to send you
activities that are linking
to things we know you knew

We want you to keep learning
to practice and remember
forgetting is concerning
to every faculty member

So check your email every day
Check google classroom too
Don't forget to go outside and play
the fresh air is good for you!

Mr. Miller reads all his emails
Mrs. Chapin works on her phone
Mrs. Pierce is checking details
Mrs. Bourque is not alone

She's writing to the teachers
She's talking to mom's and dad's
She's meeting with other leaders
She misses you all like mad

We're sorry that you missed out
on taping her to the wall
we would all have laughed a lot, no doubt
to see her stuck up in the hall!

So while we need to be apart
we hope that you won't mind
if we remind you all to do your part
Be Accountable, Be Safe and Be Kind."

If you would like to participate, please email Mrs. Chapin your response. If you or your grown ups have any questions about this, please email Mrs. Chapin. jennifer.chapin@schoolsofwestfield.org

Dear Team 57 Parents/Guardians,

I hope that everyone is doing well and staying safe. Students were sent home with Blizzard Bags on Friday, March 13, 2020. The Blizzard Bag that I gave students is an autobiographical cereal box. This is an enrichment activity and will not be used as a grade. If you need a copy to refer to, it is also on the WIS website. If you are on the website, go to the directory, and under team 57 you will find my name. There is a tab that says "Useful Links" and there are PDF's of the Blizzard Bag there.

I will also be posting enrichment activities on Google Classroom for students both for Literacy and Social Studies. These enrichment activities will not be used as a grade. There are also enrichment activities from the district on the WPS School Closure Plan website.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Miss Kordana
