Weekly Update

10/19/18

Hello Everyone!

As we conclude the third week in October, the leaves are starting to really pop and cooler air is everywhere. I hope everyone is able to get out to do some fun fall activities.

This week in SS we have been researching and working on our Explorer projects. The students are learning about the Golden Age of Exploration and the adventures that these individuals had. Those projects will be due Thursday the 25th. There are many options for students to show their knowledge.. I am looking forward to seeing their final projects.

In science, physical and chemical changes have been the focus of lessons this week. Students have talked, explored and learned about the different ways that matter can change.

This weeks ELA has been focused on idioms as well proofreading sentences for grammar, punctuation and spelling. Students are learning about interesting phrases that don't always mean what they say...

Math continues to focused on adding and subtracting whole numbers and decimals. We have also engaged in some mixed problem solving review in order to keep their minds fresh on topics they perhaps haven't seen since last year.

Things to be mindful of this week:

Library is every other week. We visited this past week but will not visit this week. Our library day is Thursday. Students are allowed 3 books.

Also, if you have not sent in permission slips for the NE Air Museum, please do so. It's going to be a great trip.

As always, if there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Have a wonderful weekend!
